This is a BIG reason I've started buying PINK stuff. None of 'em is man enough to use something so girly.
I've gone with a towel rental for camp. Granted, I buy cheap towels from the thrift store, so it's not the $. It's the fact that I expect them to take care of their stuff. Since I started doing this, every year the kids have somehow managed to keep track of their towel.

Good idea, except that I honestly don't think the boys would care. After all, no one is actually gonna SEE them use them.

I don't know what happened, but I planned spring break for the wrong week. I planned it to correspond with our neighborhood school district, but they are off this week and our spring break isn't until next week. I know I looked at their calendar. I wonder if they changed it after I had already made my plans.

Wouldn't it be a better use of your time to find a job first ? Maybe set a certain number of applications you fill out a week.

Judy, you need to get a job and then decide where to live. Otherwise you are going to be in the same boat - stuck in a place you can't afford because there are no jobs in the area.

Judy, Why are you looking to rent an apartment before you have a job? You have had a lot of bad experiences with people who you didn't trust, but went ahead and did what they asked anyway and it turned out badly. Do not give someone money into their bank account without a contract signed by them. If you want to throw your money away, any one of use would be glad to give you a deposit slip for our accounts.

I am looking at an apartment that we CAN afford at noontime. I understand what you are saying, though. Ds needs his own space and own house, even if it's a little apartment.
I can look for a job anywhere. There are options. If I find a job in the city, I can camp out at one of the kid's houses and then go back home when I am off. It's the word home that is most important right now.
I couldn't figure out why some of you said that by Dh leaving, that I was free. I figured it's because of the verse that says If the unbelieving depart, let him depart. Well, what if he believes? Then there is a verse that says if a man doesn't provide for his own house, he is worse than an infidel or unbeliever, depending on which version of the Bible you use. So I think I got it.
Dd has been very nice to let us stay at her house. She has 4 of the grandkids and it's hard for her to have so many people in her house. We have been camped in her living room for 2 months. Ds has shared the oldest one's bedroom and has been sleeping mostly on the floor. But sometimes teens have it hard when someone invades their "space" or they don't have a space of their own to just "chill" if you KWIM.

That is one of the biggest rental scams out there. Also, beware of ads from "missionaries" looking to rent their house while they are over-seas. They often post pictures of real houses. Another scam is to take deposits from multiple people to "hold" the apartment. Unless it's a legitimate business, such as an apartment complex or Realtor, don't give money unless you have the keys in hand!

My friend got the package yesterday! She said that the colors I chose were perfect. So glad she likes it.
I dropped ds1 off at school this afternoon. I didn't go in with him. Yesterday we walked around the building. It's layed out in a reasonable pattern, plus there's a desk where he could ***gasp*** ask for help. It's the second day of class. They should expect new students. He does have a big writing assignment due tomorrow.

Judy, I really don't want to go into this whole thing here . . . this is not the marriage folder, and I generally stay out of the actual marriage folder because my beliefs are not up for debate. Suffice it to say that, for the most part, the church has taught marriage WRONG for hundreds of years. The verses that state "husbands are the head" and "God hates divorce" do NOT mean what you've been led to believe they do. God does not expect a woman to stay in an abusive marriage. It's man who expects that. I'd be happy to talk more about this off Crosswalk if you'd like.
I am making a marathon trip to MA tomorrow to drop 2 of my kids off at a friend's - they are going to Anime Boston again. I have neither the time off or the funds to turn this into a family vacation, so they are going to meet up with their friend who is also going. We looked at various ways to get them there and came to the conclusion that it would be cheapest just to drive. It's about an 8 hour drive each way . . . I'll stay somewhere overnight and come back Thursday, and then do the whole thing again next week to pick them up. Good thing I like road trips.

I think I am getting to hate roadtrips. Ds and I were about 70 miles from here when Ds1 called and asked if we could go to the hospital and pick up the baby. DIL was being admitted and his boss wouldn't even let him leave work. The dr said that she has pnuemonia and there might be something wrong with her kidneys. Pray for her.

I have been on the go all day! Ended the day by going to a bible study. A friend picked me up and we went together. Nice enough group. One woman I swear I know. She did hs her kids, but they are older. Her husband thinks he knows me. Never did figure out the connection. Weird.... But, a bit disappointed. Nice enough group. Found out that the pastor that I've really connected with is leaving to plant a church. Bummer... He's a big part of the reason I go to this church. Not srue what I'm going to do. Right now, I'm so stinking tired I don't know that I have the energy to go to bed!

his, sorry about your pastor leaving...
I watched little gs yesterday. I didn't know a baby could take that much energy to watch. I was ready to go to sleep before it was even dark outside....
Ds1 said DIL will probably be in the hospital for at least a week. The good news is that her kidneys are OK. She has pnuemonia in both lungs, though. Pray the God heals her quicklly.

I have told them that this year I am instituting a rental procedure. If they want to use a tool, they must pay me a dollar. When they bring the tool back in good condition, they will get the dollar back. Hopefully I will not have to once again replace all of my cutters and hand tools next year.
